개인정보 처리방침

Marglet(마글렛, 이하 “앱”)은 읽은 책과 책에 남긴 메모·문장을 기록하는 iPhone·iPad 앱입니다. Marglet 운영자(이하 “운영자”)는 이용자의 개인정보를 중요하게 여기며, 「개인정보 보호법」, 「정보통신망 이용촉진 및 정보보호 등에 관한 법률」 등 관련 법령을 지킵니다. 이 방침은 앱과 앱 소개 웹사이트(marglet.from-here.dev, 이하 “웹사이트”)가 어떤 개인정보를 왜 처리하고, 언제 파기하며, 이용자가 어떤 권리를 가지는지 설명합니다.

1. 수집하는 개인정보

앱은 회원가입이나 로그인 없이 이용할 수 있습니다. 로그인은 여러 기기에서 기록을 맞추고 싶을 때만 선택해서 씁니다.

1.1 이용자가 직접 입력하는 정보 (기기 내 저장)

책, 서재 상태, 읽은 기간, 메모·문장·생각, 테마·잉크 색은 기기 안에만 저장되며, 로그인하지 않으면 외부 서버로 전송되지 않습니다.

1.2 Google 계정으로 로그인할 때

비밀번호는 받지 않습니다. 로그인 확인은 Google이 하고, 앱은 Google이 확인해 준 결과만 받습니다.

1.3 자동으로 생성·수집되는 정보

• 검색 호출 횟수 - 책을 검색하면 지나친 호출을 막기 위해 IP 주소별(로그인한 경우 계정 식별자별) 호출 횟수를 셉니다. IP 주소는 원래 값을 알 수 없게 비밀값으로 해시해 저장하며, 검색어는 저장하지 않습니다.
• 접속 기록 - 서버에 접속할 때 IP 주소, 접속 시각, 요청 내용 등이 서버 제공자(Supabase)의 시스템에 남을 수 있습니다.
• 표지 이미지 요청 - 책 표지는 기기가 카카오의 이미지 서버에서 직접 받아 오며, 이때 카카오가 기기의 IP 주소를 알 수 있습니다.

앱은 광고 식별자, 위치 정보, 연락처를 수집하지 않으며, 분석 도구나 크래시 리포트 도구를 쓰지 않습니다.

1.4 웹사이트를 방문할 때

• 접속 기록 - 웹사이트는 Cloudflare에서 제공되며, 방문할 때 IP 주소, 접속 시각, 요청한 페이지, 브라우저 정보 등이 Cloudflare의 시스템에 남을 수 있습니다.
• 글꼴 요청 - 웹사이트의 글꼴은 Google Fonts에서 받아 오며, 이때 Google이 브라우저의 IP 주소와 브라우저 정보를 알 수 있습니다.
• 방문 통계 - Cloudflare Web Analytics로 방문한 페이지, 들어온 경로(referrer), 국가, 기기 종류, 브라우저와 운영체제, 페이지 로딩 속도 같은 통계를 모읍니다. 쿠키나 브라우저 저장소를 쓰지 않으며, 방문자 한 사람 한 사람을 식별하거나 추적하지 않습니다.
• 언어 선택 - 고른 언어(한국어/영어)는 다음 방문에도 유지되도록 브라우저 저장소에만 저장되며 운영자에게 전송되지 않습니다.

웹사이트는 쿠키와 광고 추적 기술을 쓰지 않습니다.

2. 개인정보 이용 목적

• 계정 확인과 로그인 유지 - 설정 화면에 로그인한 이메일을 보여 줍니다.
• 기록 동기화와 복원 - 같은 계정으로 로그인한 기기끼리 기록을 맞추고, 앱을 다시 설치해도 기록을 되찾게 합니다.
• 책 검색 제공과 남용 방지 - 검색 결과를 제공하고 지나친 호출을 제한합니다.
• 서비스 운영과 보안 - 접속 기록은 장애 대응과 보안 점검에만 씁니다.
• 웹사이트 제공과 개선 - 웹사이트의 페이지와 글꼴을 전달하고, 공격과 남용을 막으며, 방문 통계로 많이 찾는 내용과 로딩 속도를 살펴 웹사이트를 고칩니다.

위 처리는 이용자가 요청한 서비스(로그인, 동기화, 책 검색, 웹사이트)를 제공하는 데 필요한 범위에서 「개인정보 보호법」 제15조 제1항 제4호(계약의 이행)에 따라 하며, 서비스 운영과 보안을 위한 접속 기록 처리는 같은 항 제6호(정당한 이익)에 따릅니다.

3. 개인정보 보유·이용 기간과 파기

• 기기 내 기록 - 앱을 삭제하거나 설정 > 내 기록 > 전체 데이터 삭제를 누를 때까지
• 계정 정보와 서버의 기록 - 계정을 삭제할 때까지. 설정 > 계정 > 계정 삭제를 누르면 서버의 계정과 모든 기록을 즉시 삭제합니다. 기록이나 책을 하나씩 지우면 서버에서는 그 내용(메모·문장·생각·쪽수, 책 정보)이 바로 지워지고, 다른 기기에도 지운 것을 알리기 위한 삭제 표시(식별자와 시각)만 계정을 삭제할 때까지 남습니다.
• 검색 호출 횟수 - 1일이 지나면 매시간 도는 정리 작업으로 자동 삭제
• 서버 제공자의 백업과 접속 기록 - 서버 제공자의 정책에 따라 일정 기간 보관 후 자동 삭제
• 웹사이트 접속 기록과 방문 통계 - Cloudflare의 정책에 따라 일정 기간 보관 후 자동 삭제
• 웹사이트 언어 선택 - 브라우저의 사이트 데이터를 지울 때까지

보유 기간이 끝나거나 처리 목적을 이룬 개인정보는 지체 없이 복구할 수 없는 방법으로 파기합니다.

4. 국외 이전

앱은 아래 서비스를 이용하며, 이 과정에서 일부 정보가 대한민국 밖에서 처리되거나 접근될 수 있습니다.

Supabase, Inc. (미국)

• 이전 항목 - 1.2의 계정 정보와 기록, 검색 호출 횟수, 접속 기록
• 목적 - 로그인, 데이터베이스, 검색 서버 운영
• 시기와 방법 - 로그인·동기화·검색할 때 암호화된 네트워크로 전송. 데이터는 대한민국 서울 지역 서버(AWS)에 저장되며, 운영·지원 과정에서 미국 등에서 접근할 수 있습니다.
• 보유 기간 - 3번의 보유 기간과 같음

Cloudflare, Inc. (미국)

• 이전 항목 - 웹사이트 방문 시 IP 주소, 접속 시각, 요청한 페이지, 브라우저 정보, 1.4의 방문 통계
• 목적 - 웹사이트 호스팅과 전송, 보안, 방문 통계
• 시기와 방법 - 웹사이트를 방문할 때 암호화된 네트워크로 전송. 방문자와 가까운 전 세계 Cloudflare 서버에서 처리됩니다.
• 보유 기간 - Cloudflare의 개인정보처리방침에 따름

이용자는 국외 이전을 거부할 수 있습니다. 로그인하지 않으면 계정 정보와 기록은 국외로 이전되지 않으며, 이 경우 기기 간 동기화를 쓸 수 없지만 그 밖의 기능은 그대로 쓸 수 있습니다. 웹사이트 방문에 따른 이전을 원하지 않으면 웹사이트를 방문하지 않으면 되며, 앱 이용에는 영향이 없습니다.

5. 제3자 제공

이용자의 개인정보를 다른 회사나 개인에게 제공하거나 판매하지 않습니다. 다만 법령에 따라 수사기관 등이 적법한 절차로 요구하는 경우는 예외입니다.

6. 이용자의 권리와 행사 방법

이용자는 언제든 자신의 개인정보에 대해 아래 권리를 행사할 수 있습니다.

• 열람·정정 - 앱에서 모든 기록을 보고 고칠 수 있습니다.
• 삭제 - 기록은 하나씩, 책은 연결된 기록과 함께 지울 수 있으며, 지운 내용은 서버에서도 바로 지워집니다. 계정 삭제로 서버의 모든 정보를 지울 수 있습니다.
• 내려받기 - 설정 > 내 기록 > 백업 파일 만들기로 모든 기록을 JSON 파일로 받을 수 있습니다.
• 처리 정지와 그 밖의 요청 - 9번의 연락처로 요청하면 지체 없이 처리합니다.

백업 파일은 이용자가 고른 곳(파일 앱, iCloud Drive 등)에 저장되며 운영자에게 전송되지 않습니다. 파일에는 메모와 문장이 그대로 들어 있으니 믿을 수 있는 곳에만 보관해 주세요.

7. 처리 위탁

앱 운영을 위해 아래 외부 서비스에 개인정보 처리를 위탁합니다. 위탁받는 회사는 각자의 개인정보처리방침을 따릅니다.

• Supabase, Inc. (미국) - 로그인, 데이터베이스, 검색 서버 운영. 정책
• Google LLC (미국) - Google 계정 로그인 확인, 웹사이트 글꼴 제공(Google Fonts). 정책
• Cloudflare, Inc. (미국) - 웹사이트 호스팅과 전송, 보안, 방문 통계(Cloudflare Web Analytics). 정책
• 주식회사 카카오 (대한민국) - 책 검색 결과와 표지 이미지 제공. 검색어는 카카오에 전달되지만 검색 서버가 대신 요청하므로 이용자를 알 수 있는 정보는 함께 보내지 않으며, 표지를 받을 때 기기의 IP 주소가 전달됩니다. 정책

로그인하지 않고 책 검색도 쓰지 않으면 앱에서 위 회사로 전송되는 정보는 없습니다.

8. 개인정보의 안전성 확보 조치

「개인정보 보호법」 제29조에 따라 다음과 같은 기술적·관리적 조치를 합니다.

• 앱과 서버 사이의 모든 통신 구간 암호화(HTTPS)
• 데이터베이스 행 단위 접근 제어(RLS)로 로그인한 본인의 기록만 읽고 쓸 수 있게 제한
• 로그인 정보는 기기의 키체인에 저장하며, 비밀번호는 받거나 저장하지 않음
• 서버 관리 화면과 개인정보 접근 권한은 개인정보 보호책임자로 한정

10. 아동의 개인정보

만 14세 미만 아동의 개인정보를 알면서 수집하지 않습니다. 만 14세 미만이라면 로그인하지 않고 이용해 주세요. 이 경우 기록은 기기에만 저장됩니다.

11. 개인정보 처리방침의 변경

이 방침을 바꾸면 이 페이지에 바뀐 내용과 시행일을 시행일 최소 7일 전에 알립니다. 수집 항목 추가, 제3자 제공 확대 등 이용자의 권리에 중대한 변경은 최소 30일 전에 알립니다.

Privacy Policy

Marglet (the “App”) is an iPhone and iPad app for keeping track of the books you read and the notes and quotes you leave in them. The Marglet operator (the “Operator”) values your privacy and complies with the Personal Information Protection Act of Korea (PIPA), the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, and other applicable laws. This policy explains what personal information the App and its website (marglet.from-here.dev, the “Website”) process and why, when it is deleted, and what rights you have.

1. Information We Collect

The App can be used without signing up or signing in. Signing in is optional and only needed to sync records across devices.

1.1 Information you enter (stored on your device)

Books, shelf status, reading periods, notes, quotes, thoughts, and theme and ink colors are stored only on your device and are not sent to any server unless you sign in.

1.2 When you sign in with Google

We never receive your password. Google verifies your sign-in, and the App only receives the result.

1.3 Information generated or collected automatically

• Search request counts - When you search for a book, we count requests per IP address (or per account identifier if you are signed in) to prevent excessive use. IP addresses are stored only as a keyed hash that cannot be turned back into the address, and search terms are not stored.
• Access logs - When the App connects to the server, your IP address, the time of access, and request details may be logged by our server provider (Supabase).
• Cover image requests - Your device loads book covers directly from Kakao's image servers, so Kakao can see your device's IP address.

The App does not collect advertising identifiers, location, or contacts, and uses no analytics or crash reporting tools.

1.4 When you visit the Website

• Access logs - The Website is served by Cloudflare. When you visit, your IP address, the time of access, the page requested, and browser details may be logged by Cloudflare.
• Font requests - The Website loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so Google can see your IP address and browser details.
• Visit statistics - We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to collect statistics such as the pages visited, referrer, country, device type, browser and operating system, and page load performance. It uses no cookies or browser storage and does not identify or track individual visitors.
• Language choice - The language you pick (Korean or English) is saved only in your browser's storage so it is remembered next time, and is never sent to us.

The Website uses no cookies or ad tracking.

2. How We Use Information

• Account verification and keeping you signed in - Your signed-in email is shown in Settings.
• Syncing and restoring records - Keeps records in sync across devices signed in to the same account, and lets you recover them after reinstalling the App.
• Book search and abuse prevention - Provides search results and limits excessive requests.
• Operations and security - Access logs are used only for troubleshooting and security checks.
• Serving and improving the Website - Delivers the Website's pages and fonts, protects it from attacks and abuse, and uses visit statistics to see what people look for and how fast pages load.

We process this information as needed to provide the services you ask for (sign-in, sync, book search, and the Website) under Article 15(1)4 of PIPA (performance of a contract), and process access logs for operations and security under Article 15(1)6 (legitimate interests).

3. Retention and Deletion

• Records on your device - Until you delete the App or tap Settings (설정) > My Records (내 기록) > Delete All Data (전체 데이터 삭제)
• Account information and records on the server - Until you delete your account. Tapping Settings (설정) > Account (계정) > Delete Account (계정 삭제) immediately deletes your account and all records from the server. When you delete a record or book, its content (notes, quotes, thoughts, page numbers, and book details) is removed from the server right away; only a deletion marker (an identifier and timestamps) remains until you delete your account, so your other devices know it was deleted.
• Search request counts - Automatically deleted after 1 day by an hourly cleanup job
• Server provider backups and access logs - Kept for a period under the provider's policy, then automatically deleted
• Website access logs and visit statistics - Kept for a period under Cloudflare's policy, then automatically deleted
• Website language choice - Until you clear the site data in your browser

Once the retention period ends or the purpose is fulfilled, personal information is destroyed without delay in a way that cannot be recovered.

4. International Data Transfers

The App uses the following services, through which some information may be processed or accessed outside Korea.

Supabase, Inc. (United States)

• Information transferred - Account information and records in 1.2, search request counts, access logs
• Purpose - Sign-in, database, and search server operations
• When and how - Sent over an encrypted connection when you sign in, sync, or search. Data is stored on servers (AWS) in the Seoul, Korea region and may be accessed from the United States or elsewhere for operations and support.

Google LLC (United States)

• Information transferred - Google account information at sign-in; IP address and browser details when you visit the Website
• Purpose - Verifying Google sign-in; serving the Website's fonts
• When and how - Sent over an encrypted connection when you sign in or visit the Website
• Retention - Under Google's privacy policy
• Contact - Google privacy inquiries

Cloudflare, Inc. (United States)

• Information transferred - IP address, time of access, page requested, and browser details when you visit the Website, and the visit statistics in 1.4
• Purpose - Hosting, delivering, and securing the Website; visit statistics
• When and how - Sent over an encrypted connection when you visit the Website, and processed on Cloudflare servers around the world close to you
• Retention - Under Cloudflare's privacy policy

You may refuse international transfers. If you don't sign in, your account information and records are not transferred abroad; you won't be able to sync across devices, but all other features work as usual. If you don't want the transfers that come with visiting the Website, you can simply not visit it; the App works the same either way.

5. Sharing with Third Parties

We do not provide or sell your personal information to any other company or person, except when required by law through due legal process, such as a request from an investigative authority.

6. Your Rights

You may exercise the following rights over your personal information at any time.

• Access and correction - View and edit all your records in the App.
• Deletion - Delete records one by one, or a book together with its records; deleted content is also removed from the server right away. Delete your account to remove all your information from the server.
• Export - Tap Settings (설정) > My Records (내 기록) > Create Backup File (백업 파일 만들기) to download all your records as a JSON file.
• Suspension of processing and other requests - Contact us at the address in Section 9 and we will act without delay.
• California residents (CCPA/CPRA) - We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising.

Backup files are saved wherever you choose (Files, iCloud Drive, etc.) and are never sent to us. They contain your notes and quotes as written, so keep them only in places you trust.

7. Service Providers

We entrust the processing of personal information to the following services to operate the App. Each follows its own privacy policy.

• Supabase, Inc. (United States) - Sign-in, database, and search server operations. Policy
• Google LLC (United States) - Verifying Google sign-in; serving the Website's fonts (Google Fonts). Policy
• Cloudflare, Inc. (United States) - Hosting, delivering, and securing the Website; visit statistics (Cloudflare Web Analytics). Policy
• Kakao Corp. (Korea) - Book search results and cover images. Your search terms are sent to Kakao, but our search server makes the requests on your behalf, so nothing that identifies you is sent with them; your device's IP address is sent when covers load. Policy

If you don't sign in and don't use book search, the App sends nothing to these companies.

8. Security Measures

In accordance with Article 29 of PIPA, we take the following technical and administrative measures.

• Encryption (HTTPS) of all communication between the App and the server
• Row-level security (RLS) in the database so that signed-in users can read and write only their own records
• Sign-in session stored in the device Keychain; passwords are never received or stored
• Access to server administration and personal information limited to the Privacy Officer

10. Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14. If you are under 14, please use the App without signing in; your records will stay on your device.

11. Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy, we will post the changes and the effective date on this page at least 7 days in advance. Material changes that affect your rights, such as collecting new information or expanding sharing, will be announced at least 30 days in advance.

This English version is provided for convenience. If it differs from the Korean version, the Korean version prevails.
